ABOUT VAL
Valentino “Val” Garbarino, a 17-year-old racing star from Martinez, California, has rapidly ascended the ranks of American motorsport.
A senior at Campolindo High School, Garbarino’s passion for racing was ignited in his early childhood, inspired by his father and grandfather’s enthusiasm for the sport. His journey began with a worn out go-kart powered by a repurposed lawn mower engine, leading to competitive karting by age 11.
Garbarino’s karting career is distinguished by significant achievements, including becoming the IKF Grand National Champion in the KA100 Junior category in 2022 and securing a third-place finish in the SKUSA Winter Series the same year. These accomplishments earned him the prestigious VMB Driver Development Scholarship, facilitating his transition to formula car racing with World Speed Motorsports.
In 2024, Garbarino made a remarkable debut in the Formula Pro USA Western Championship’s FPUSA Formula 4 class. He clinched the championship title with two races to spare, showcasing exceptional skill and consistency throughout the season. Notably, he dominated at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, winning both races and setting new track records.
Off the track, Garbarino actively engages with the local community. He was a featured guest at the Orinda Classic Car Show, where he interacted with fans and inspired young enthusiasts by allowing them to experience sitting in his race car.
As he continues to develop his racing career, Garbarino remains committed to his education and personal growth, balancing the demands of high-level competition with his academic responsibilities. His dedication, talent, and community involvement position him as a promising figure in American motorsport.
