Lucas Oil Racing Winter Series
The beginning of the week for the final rounds of the Lucas Oil Winter Series started off good. I was a little off the pace in practice, but found speed in the first qualifying session and ended up p3. In the first race I finished p2, with very promising pace going into the next 2 races. In the second qualifying session, I was p2, and would start 2nd for race 3. I started race 2 in p3 and made my way up to p2 before contact forced me to retire from the race. The contact ripped the steering wheel from my hand, causing a fracture in my right wrist and because of the pain, I had to retire from race 3 after taking the green flag. Gutted to miss out on the championship this way, but days like this make us stronger. We’ll take p2 in the championship, and focus on the positive things from the week as we move forward. 💪
I can’t thank RC, Juan, and all the mechanics and personnel at Lucas Oil Racing School enough for the hospitality and the opportunity to drive their cars. I’d also like to thank my family for always supporting me, World Speed Motorsports, VMB Driver Development, Exclusive Racing, Harris Group Inc, Madpak Products, Molecule, Chegg, and Casa Gourmet Burritos for their support, and God for allowing me to have opportunities like this. I’ll take some time to heal up, and we’ll go from there!
