I’ve had a very eventful and exciting first month of 2025. My January started off with a 2 day test with Lucas Oil Racing School at Sebring International Raceway. I’ve raced in Florida a few times at AMR Motorplex in Miami in Go Karts, but this was my first time driving a racecar in Florida and first time at Sebring. Although Florida is known as the sunshine state, the weather was nothing but cloudy the whole time I was there. Fortunately, there was no rain, so I only had to deal with colder temperatures. Meeting the team at Lucas Oil and having the experience of driving their cars was very special, and the kindness of the crew members and team manager RC made me feel right at home. Being out on track with the Lucas Oil Formula Car was a very different experience than what I’m used to, and the lack of wings and slick tires proved to be a challenge.
On the first day, I struggled to adapt to the car. With the help of the Lucas Oil coaches, we worked together to improve my driving and the car’s setup based on my feedback. The second day saw a significant improvement in my lap times.
Very shortly afterward, I flew back home for a few days before heading to Thunderhill Raceway Park to test an F3 car with World Speed Motorsports. Stepping into the car felt very familiar after having done a full season in F4. Going full throttle on track and feeling the turbo spool up for the first time was a very raw experience. Throughout the day, I got faster and faster as I adjusted to the speed and reaction times I needed to drive the car fast, and I was able to get down to a very respectable lap time for my first time driving a F3 car. It was the most fun day I’ve had in a racecar so far, and I really hope to get more opportunities like it in the future! I’d like to thank my mom and dad for always supporting me, RC, Lucas Oil Racing School and everyone on the crew, Jan, Telo, Mark, and everyone at World Speed Motorsports, VMB Driver Development, Chegg, Molecule, Goodyear Tires, Madpak Products, Exclusive Racing, Arcane Motorsports and Harris Group Inc. for all of their support, and God for always watching over me and allowing me to have opportunities like these. In the next few weeks, I’ll be traveling back to Florida to race in the Lucas Oil Winter Series at Homestead Miami Speedway. Can’t wait to get back at it!
